Material Investigations

This series explores materially grounded practices as matter underlines both living and non-living beings, and hence here nature and culture intertwine. The objects can  be perceived not only as appearances in their raw, textured or otherwise altered state, but also as the dissolution of matter. While the sculptures often follow a long history of creation, they always feel contemporary as we encounter them in the here and now. Stemming from studio practices and a deep understanding of the processes associated with the creation and manipulation of specific materials, the sculptures also represent an accumulation of knowledge, research and production.
